Windows 7 install help
So here is my issue. I ordered windows 7 as well as a back up cd. Now my original plan was to simply wait for the back up CD to get here and install it. well, the CD never got here and now i cant install it the easy way. I do have an online download available though.
My question is does anyone know how i can set up a flash drive or set up CD's so i can install windows 7 from it? im running windows XP at the moment so i cant just do a simple upgrade. When i download windows 7 from online i get three application files where everything i have read so far says i need the .iso file.
anyone got a possible solution for me?
thanks
The downloadable Win7 iso should already have the burning info in it.
Just use a fresh DVD-R (not RW, heard there were problems with RWs), and a program like ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/). When you load the ISO, all the settings should be preset by the ISO, so just burn it ^^
yeah that is your best bet.
http://cdburnerxp.se/ is also very nice
Windows 7 is the latest public release version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablet PCs, and media center PCs. Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009, and reached general retail availability on October 22, 2009, less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7's server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, was released at the same time.
